After months of preparation the Live Omen CD of psychotic horror music is now available from http://www.earthbeat.co.uk/ and following the links to Live Omen.
An outline of some of the tracks can be viewed on the Live Omen page at Earthbeat Music.
The music is nothing like what one would expect at this time of year. Usually spooky music is geared towards witches and ghosts etc. Live Omen whilst making a very brief reference in this direction is more about what is in one's mind, our fears our expectations about what ultimately comes to us all. It is designed to make one think.
The tracks are fully orchestrated and some are laced with special effects. Some of the titles include:
Frenzy; Hallow Hell; Having the Time of your Death; The Reaper; The Mad House; Demons; The Music Box and ... the insane Duk C101. There are 17 tracks in all. The only clue as to what several of the tracks are about is the title and occasional sound effects. The idea is to make the listener think, and contemplate the darker sphere of existence (or post-existence).
On the Live Omen page one can gain a greater insight into the meaning behind some of the titles.
Live Omen is not music to sit down and enjoy as you would other genres but one thing is certain, it is a different experience. I've exposed the music to children who look at it differently of course. Some have suggested they would use it at 'spooky get-togethers' All well and good.
A sample description
The Reaper
As the crowd tell all with increasing levels of panic.. no one can avoid the Reaper. Listen carefully, I swear you can hear the approach of the angel of death. Dare you let him arrive or do you quickly change the track.
Whatever one can get out of it, it's worth visiting the web site at least.
